A massage therapy session with me will likely look and feel differently that what you may have had with other therapists. The foundation for my unique style is my previous career in emergency medicine and my experiences in athletic training and rehabilitation working with high school, collegiate, and master's level athletes.
There is no 'typical' session - sometimes my patients are fully clothed, and sometimes not. My sessions are frequently interactive, but sometimes what your body needs is quiet, supportive hands-on care. I combined traditional massage therapy techniques with manual therapies more often associated with physical or occupational therapy. I see my role as a guide or coach in your healing process. My goal is to help you function better tomorrow, not just feel better today.
I am trained in sports massage therapy, active release techniques (ART), neuromuscular therapy, manual scar release techniques, manual lymphatic drainage (MLD/LDM), Trauma Touch, Reiki, Kinesiotaping, Anatomy Trains fascial line reading, rehabilitative exercise. I also have training in physiotherapy modalities including therapeutic ultrasound, E-STIM, paraffin, cyrotherapy, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). My work has helped individuals with issues as varied as acute ankle sprains, chronic muscle strains, trans-tibial amputations, chronic migraines, whiplash, chemotherapy treatment side effects, and assault healing.

What Clients Have Said About Me:
"Beau provided incredible care for me after I had multiple ICU hospitalizations and asthma flares that caused a lot of issues with my mid back and ribs. I was given immediate relief from the discomfort, and also educated about stretches and home care to make the treatment last. I absolutely recommend Beau, especially for anyone with a trauma history seeking body work that respects their personal boundaries and can bring relief for a wide variety of issues." -Z.W.
"Beau is an attentive, thoughtful healer who honors me and my body's needs. I feel safe and cared for in my sessions (almost 2 years now), and my issues of trauma and injury are respected and tended to with great intention -- both at the physical and emotional level. Beau has helped me to know my body better and to be gentle with myself in my healing process. I really appreciate that Beau understands how activists can bear trauma in their bodies and I have been able to let go of that shame. I am so thankful I found Beau and offer my highest recommendation!" -A.D.
"My first experience with Beau as my massage therapist sold me. I believe my exact words were, 'I think I just had an out of body experience.' I've continued to see Beau and wouldn't go anywhere else! In addition, if you are even remotely uncomfortable with your body type, don't fret - Beau is the most open-minded, comforting and professional therapist around." -T.P.
"I started out as one of Beau's massage school guinea pigs, and it was a pleasure to viscerally feel his growth as a healer, and now is one of very few I would trust with healing body work, as he is someone that is not only gifted with hands, but also works with the right spirit and attitude that make me feel very comfortable, help me relax, and heal." -M.F.
